Quilts of the past

Not the distant past, just the recent past. As in the last ten years. When I started this blog, I imagined I'd be talking a lot more about my quilting projects but that hasn't been the case. I'm not sure why - maybe because it's my personal hobby and kids, hubby, work, and the rest of life's activities come first. This means I don't get to quilt as much as I'd like. (And of course lately, I've been reading that darn Twilight Series instead of quilting.)

As I was going through some old photo's, I found some I thought I should post - just to give you a taste of my work.

This was a graduation quilt for my youngest brother. He requested a Tommy Hilfiger quilt.

This was a Christmas gift to my dad and his wife. I call it Bob's Plaid.

This was a graduation quilt for another brother. (I have three!)

This is one of the first quilts I did. It was a difficult pattern but I really liked the colors. Even the brown border that no one else likes! Of course, now it's fashionable to use brown fabric. I guest I was ahead of my time.

This was a baby quilt for a friend (who happens to have the cutest little girl EVER.)

This was the inspiration for the baby quilt. The pattern is Buckeye Beauty. Lots of pieces and it took forever to put together. I especially like the pieced border.

This is a quilt I did for my bed. By far the most pieces I've ever worked with. But I love the way it turned it and it was definitely worth it. I had this one professionally quilted.

This is a scaled down version of the popular Rock Star quilt. It was made for hubby's college friend. (He spent most of his first year of life with a mohawk so the pattern name is quite appropriate!)

Very cool! I had never seen the red and yellow quilt before. That pattern is really unique. Where are you at in the Twilight books? I just started the fourth.

That's the galloping horse quilt. I've told you that story right? It was the third quilt I ever made and she created the pattern for quilt camp. So yes, it's very unique. Just don't look at it too closely!

I bought the fourth book but I haven't started it. Actually, I bought the second book thinking it was the fourth book so imagine my surprise when I started reading it and realized my error!
